When preparing to move, there are always so many things to organise and remember.  And it's often the little things that make all the difference.  We have provided a simple guide below to assist you in the completion of a successful transaction to ensure you can take the necessary steps forward for a smooth and stress free move!

We strongly suggest to book a removalist as soon as convenient, as you may have difficulty arranging times if you leave it too late. We can also provide you FREE of charge ‘Garage Sale’ signs for that spring clean out by just contacting us a at the office to schedule your preferred date.

We have provided below a checklist that will assist you in making the necessary arrangements to have your address changed with all the essential organisations to eliminate your mail being returned to sender, or potentially missing during the big move.  By simply visiting your local post office, you can arrange a service redirection of your mail for a selected period of time. Additionally, don’t forget to cancel any newspaper deliveries, or redirect your delivery to your new address, if necessary.

CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. Whether you're moving in or moving out, its always appreciated when a home is left sparkling clean, paying particular attention to the oven, inside cupboards and floor coverings before the hand over of your property. We understand that moving is very busy, so if you do decide you need help we can refer you to reputable and professional cleaners.  Please leave any instruction booklets for appliances eg. Security, air-conditioning, heating, spa etc. in the home, perhaps in a kitchen cupboard or drawer, and leave a note advising the new owner of your garbage collection day.

Ensure you have arranged for a final reading of your electricity, gas etc. and that your phone service is transferred or disconnected. • Steam clean carpets
• Clean surfaces inside & outside of cupboards
• A sparkling clean oven
• Defrost the refrigerator/freezer
• Clean curtains
• Clean windows
• Tidy the garden – freshly mowed and trimmed, remove rubbish
• Ensure included chattels are not accidently packed
• Disconnect all appliances
• Return any borrowed items
• Ensure vacant possession is given – the new owner doesn’t want your items left in the garage or anywhere else
• Lights should all be in working condition – dead bulbs should be replaced 
• Leave photocopies of any house plans, sewer and drain plans, ETSA approvals for building work
• Leave copies of approvals/plans for any works not yet done ie. If there was approval for a second storey etc
• A list for the purchaser including information like when the bins are collected, re-cycling collected & green rubbish collection times
• Instructions for house hold equipment & inclusions (air conditioners, ovens etc.)
• Make sure the security system is in working order
• The purchaser must be able to access all areas and secure all areas, without engaging a locksmith
